    Sehr schade: Ich hätte das gerne auch hier gelesen statt über andere Kanäle und Dritte: #Barcelone nimmt als erste Kommune an dem Programm #Public-Money-Public-Code teil. Vielleicht habe ich das auch überlesen?

    Zumindest aber kam das zuletzt in den Gesprächen nicht vor. :-( Auch wenn es immer noch #Ubuntu zu sein scheint, so klingt das doch nochmals anders als "nur" die Aussage: "Wir setzen auf #Open-Source!"

    So jetzt habe ich #Privoxy auch unter #Hyperbola fertig konfiguriert und sämtliche unliebsamen Dienste entgültig ausgesperrt. Interessant wie so manche Webseite dann aufgrund verweigerter Datenverbindungen zu so manchen Monopolisten (Stichwort #Google und Co.) dann nicht mehr funktioniert.

    Nebenbei erwähnt wäre das auch hilfreich für so manche Kampagne. :) #fuckoffgoogle

    Ist doch klasse, oder? Golem.de verspricht "IT-News für Profis". Während ein aktueller Bericht über die aktuellen CPU-Probleme und Fehler "Meltdown" und "Spectre" aber gerade einmal 54 Kommentare hat, besitzt der glanzvolle Kommentar über "Star Citizen" tatsächlich inzwischen über 450 Kommentare.

    Was genau sagt das konkret über den Fokus aus? Mehr bunte Bildchen als Sicherheitsbewusstsein? Ich möchte den Leuten ihr Vergnügnen bestimmt nicht madig machen, aber wenn man sich allein die Systemanforderungen des besagten Spiels anschaut, bleibt man mit der Frage zurück, ob man überhaupt bereit ist aus den besagten oben erwähnten Fehlern zu lernen.

    Was sagen diese denn aus? Die Schnelligkeit moderner Prozessoren wurde auf Basis einer Lücke errichtet und weiter entwickelt. Keine Frage, nicht immer sind Fehler so offenkundig erkennbar. Aber gerade #Intel redet sich gern aus der Situation heraus und auch #AMD ist nicht besonders laut, wie sie zukünftig damit umgehen wollen. Wie wäre es denn mit kompletter Offenlegung der Spezifikationen, so dass auch ein großer Schritt in Richtung quelloffene Hardware getan werden kann? Projekte wie #Libreboot oder #Coreboot würden sich wirklich darüber freuen. Aber nein: Lieber etwas Öffentlichkeitsarbeit und man meint die Sache ist dann schnell vergessen. In Anbetracht der Kommentare zu "Star Citizen" wird es das auch sein. Hauptsache "LÄUFT" und das möglichst "SCHNELL"! Man kann dazu nur mit dem Kopf schütteln. Aber die Menschen, die sich für Offenheit bemühen sind dann "Aluhut-Träger"? Nun bislang hatten sie einfach nur Recht, auch mit der "Management Engine" von #Intel.     @xrevan86 In short, the decision to switch to #Android 7.0 minimum was made to motivate me, @yvolk - developer of #AndStatus, to continue active improvement of this #OpenSource application.
    I am a professional Java/Scala developer, and as a majority in our profession I need to keep my skills up-to-date. Starting from Android 7, developers can use all new and trending features of Java 8 and modern application approaches, including functional programming. Especially after mastering #Scala I simply cannot use outdated language patterns... As one of my colleagues put it: I simply cannot afford writing for free something that is not a "Cutting edge".
    I think that this is not bad for all of us in the long run?!

    Something in your versioned project suddenly broke and you have no specific idea when the breaking change was introduced? Fear not, here's git-bisect!

    This helpful tool checks out a revision between the current branch and the provided last known working revision. It lets you test for the faulty behavior, then tell it whether it was working or not at this point in time. Git will then check out a new revision between two new boundaries depending on the previous input. After about 2log(N) steps where N is the total number of commits between the current branch and the last known working revision, it will then present you with the first commit where it all went down.

    This tool is especially useful in open source projects with many moving parts and few automatic regression tests. Pro Tip: you can use the date the faulty behavior was first reported to cull down the number of revisions Git will have to wade through, although the binary search is pretty well-suited to big datasets.
