    Switzerland and privacy: our data protection law is in need of a revision. At a minimum I would like it lifted up to the level of the GDPR – but this Swiss NGO is saying that our “national council” is likely to fail at this as the resolution proposed by the commission falls far short.     #privacy groups (in Friendica, Hubzilla) / aspects (in diaspora) are powerful. Apart from simplifying sharing limited content with large lists of people, they also not_disclose all the recipients in UI (unless all recipients decide to show up in comments). Without channels (present only in Hubzilla) this "content management" makes it trivial to i.e. post in different languages specifically to friends who speak this language.     Meanwhile, Spanish banks have stopped sending documents and other personal info via email. Snailmail is allowed though. :smart:

    Just (2019-08-12 3pm) received an email from #Eurostar about an updated #privacy policy that took effect a week ago (2019-08-05).

    Of course, my privacy is important to them! And thus, I'm allowed to opt-out... But my browser warns a lot against doing so (see screenshot)..

    And to get my data deleted I'm supposed to provide more personal data, including 2(!!) proofs of my ID... :angry_trump:
