#RoadTrip #sonTwo drove his wife and kids to her parents' house, where they will spend 2-3 weeks. He's now driving back home.
Magical trip experience: #GS3 figured out how to balance a chicken nugget on his foot held above his head while strapped into his child seat.

#sonTwo is driving home to #MO from #FL. We're on the phone, talking about the Pandora Papers and unethical billionaires.

#GS3 stuck some plastic toy into the wall heater. My daughter-in-law found him swirling a burning toy around and flames coming out of the heater. She put both fires out, but the heater will have to be replaced.
#sonTwo said he may have a little pyromaniac on his hands. But I think he's just a curious two-point-five year old. He's the same child who figured out how to stick his toys into the child-proof server rack about a year ago.

I recently went into a certain store and sent a picture of some products to #sonTwo.
He told me how it happened.
S2: Why is my dad sending me these pictures? I don't have money to buy these things and he's just there to look.
S2's Wife: No, he's going to buy you something.
S2: No, he's just there to look. He hasn't even caught up on his bills yet.
S2W: Watch. He's going to buy you something.
A few minutes later, I called: "Can you give the clerk your shipping information?" and then put the phone on speaker.

Had a conversation with #sonTwo about #baseball's one-game sudden-death wild card playoff games. We both agree that it is incongruous with a sport that takes 162 games to pick the teams going into the playoffs.

#sonTwo and family went to a hot wings place that made them sign a waiver before they could try the "this time it really is hot, we swear" flavor. He said it was hotter than their other flavors, but not as much as hyped.

#sonTwo: You don’t know yet whether you like New York, because you have not had to drive or take the subway yet. What you really dislike about most places is commuting to and from work. If you had to do that in NYC, you might decide you don’t like the city.
I admit it. He is correct.

In last night’s #videochat, #GS3 brought his power tool to Grandpa and asked for batteries 🔋 to make it work again. #sonTwo said it is the lug nut gun that mechanics 🧰 use. It came with a toy car that got broken within less than a day. And that it is just an irritating noisemaker without the car.
I guess I will be ordering some AA batteries soon.

Nor have I. I do remember #sonTwo coming home from school and saying that every class just replayed the 2nd plane's crash over and over.
-
#sonTwo said yesterday that due to medical issues, they’re not supposed to have alcoholic beverages except occasionally (that is, less than once per month), so they’ve pretty much gone alcohol-free.
This came in the context of me drinking a can of San Pellegrino water during our #videochat and him asking me whether it was beer. (No, alcohol is a great way to go to sleep, but I don’t even use it for that, as I expect it would lose its effect after a while.)

#GS3 showed me his toy tractor. He objected when I called the driver aR farmer. #GS4 was quiet, but stared intently at Grandpa.
Today, #sonTwo and I briefly talked about him getting a place outside the municipal boundaries, so they can have farm animals.
Network congestion was an issue today, so images were pixelated during most of our half hour call.

And #GS3’s shipment of books and art stuff arrived. #GS4 had a couple of things in there also, but I forgot to get anything for my granddoggy.
The two year old was holding a Captain Underpants book and waiting for #sonTwo to read it to him.
Since the CU and Dog Man books are not toddler resistant, 2nd son said he was going to keep them away from GS3 and just bring them out when it is time to read.
(GS3 saw me showing his dad some books I bought for his cousin A1 … got excited about incoming books … so Grandpa bought him some of the same books. [And I also got many of the same books for cousin #GD2] … the under 13 crowd will have lots of fun with these stories.)
-
#sonTwo’s wife sent a photo of #GS3 reading to his little brother. (I know it isn’t quite reading yet, but he knows the story and can match most of it with the right page.)
“Never touch a seahorse …”

After yesterday's farm trip, #sonTwo bought #GS3 a $5 toy tractor (in familiar John Deere green and gold colors). I know he'll be playing farmer for the next couple of days.
-
#sonTwo's mother-in-law saw him make quesadillas with meat and vegetables, so now she's started making "burrito pizzas" too.
-
#sonTwo and his wife took #GS3 and #GS4 to a farm of some type. The 2 year old got to feed and pet goats and ponies, and to touch a tractor. He almost got nose to nose with a goat.
Sweaty boy, though. It must be hot and humid there.
The younger child watched and smiled.

I remember coming back from San Diego with a Mac mini and a photo printer for #sonTwo. A few days beforehand, Apple had released an OS upgrade, and since it was free for us, 2nd son upgraded.
Immediately, printing broke. I had to compile the printer driver from scratch to make it work. So that’s my “it just works” experience with #MacOSX.

#sonTwo finally heard back from the job he had applied for: No.
That means a move to $OTHER_STATE will not happen.
-
Got a message from #Daddy_A on #Wire:
> Did #sonTwo tell you ...
No, but even if he had, I'd probably rather hear it from you.

Tempted to send this to #sonTwo ... it'll remind him of his childhood.
