@clacke I don't know if you already have it, but I found "Dog Man Guide to Creating Comics in 3-D" at the store.
My granddaughter #GD2 will receive this, "Cat Kid Comic Club" and 10 Dog Man books as part of her shipment this week.
I notice that most of these books' titles are based on the name of a classic "school forced me to read this" book. Are these kid-friendly adaptations of the greats, like the Wishbone books were?
#sonTwo enjoyed Wishbone's "Be A Wolf" so much that he voluntarily read "Beowulf" afterward.

Remembered being on a public library waiting list for almost a month, awaiting a chance to borrow the first #Harry_Potter book. The day I picked it up, I worked an evening shift, got in around 01:00, and stayed up until 04:30 reading. It was pretty enjoyable. I picked up #sonTwo from school and we started reading together. We read that book together every day after school until it was completed. Then I turned it in ahead of schedule.
On payday, I headed down to the nearest Barnes and Noble bookstore and bought the book. When books 2 and 3 were available, I bought them also. I do not think we read or bought book 4 or any later ones, because he got into weird stuff ("Beowulf" in the original version, which I have never completed myself.)

Target has books in the âCaptain Underpantsâ series on sale for $8 and books in the âDog Manâ series on sale for $9 ($3 below normal price).
However, they donât have âA Tale of Two Kittiesâ or âDog Man and Cat Kidâ in stock. Those are the two Dog Man books Iâm missing for #GD2.
I still do not have a list of which books #A1 already has, so heâs going to have to wait. #Daddy_A is still too worried about the medical issue to either get me a list himself or hand the phone to his son and say âtake photos of the book coversâ and then send them to me.
Meanwhile, #sonTwo has committed to read them to #GS3 if I send them. Which means heâs likely to get some of the books.

My two younger boys talked to their doctors, who told them the same thing, so neither of them is vaccinated. Both are much heavier than they should be, too.
#sonTwo's workplace has been closed twice because someone who works there was infected.
-
#sonTwo: Since you did not get that job you were after, maybe you can come stay with us and help with grandkids.
#sonOne: Oh, no! How are you taking it?
( #Daddy_A is still pretty focused on his wife's health. I'm going to try to talk with him again tomorrow. )
-
If #sonTwo gets the job he's trying to get, my current plan is to travel to #MO to help with packing and moving and preparing the house for sale.
-
I sent #GS3 (age 2) a cheap Walmart tablet that I was dissatisfied with (but he liked playing with it when I was there). I don't know how much he uses it, because #sonTwo said he was not going to connect it to a network.

When my mom and one of my sisters tried to talk me into dyeing my hair, I pointed to one spot and said "these hairs turned white when #sonOne was 16", then to another spot and said "these changed colors when #sonTwo was 14 and #Daddy_A was 12" and then told about the events of those time periods. "I earned these. It would be wrong to hide them."

#sonTwo made it to the next stage of the hiring process. Heâs scrambling to try to produce more evidence of his skillset.
He has to travel out of state for next weekâs in-person interview.
Meanwhile, #Daddy_A is concerned about #Mama_Aâs health ⊠the consequences that this surgery could have has him scared.
-
#sonTwo was supposed to hear yesterday about the job he applied for. So far, no news. Instead of renting me their house, he thinks theyâll sell it. He said âjust come live with us in $OTHER_STATEâ.
-
#sonTwo called to ask me if a package inbound to them was sent by me. I hadn't sent anything. While I had him on the phone, I asked about diaper pail liners ... and now a package of them is headed their way.

Me, to #sonTwo: #sonOne doesn't know what to do about #GD1, because they aren't giving a remote learning option for her school and he doesn't want her bringing #COVID-19 home to #GD2 (whose school does have a remote learning option this year).
sonTwo: He could always try home schooling.
Me, laughing: He's part of the leftish group that has always opposed such things. I expect he'll end up doing that, but it will happen at the last minute.

Did not get to #videochat with #sonOne and his family, nor with #Daddy_A and his family.
I did get about half an hour with #sonTwo and his family. They took #GS3 to a field with lots of tall flowers and he got to run between them. Then I walked to the store to replenish my #yogurt supply. When I came back, it was almost bedtime for the two year old, so we had a rushed session.
GS3 is particularly a fan of broccoli đ„Š right now, so theyâve been making sure he has a little every day. He also likes cheese, so tonight he finished his quesadilla while talking to grandpa. I didnât understand a word he said until time for âbye byeâ and âgood nightâ, but he smiled and babbled. I suppose he was probably talking about the field trip.
#GS4 sat quietly and watched the screen where grandpa was. And smiled.

Remembering that #sonTwo became a lot more helpful around the house after I fell off a ladder and banged my shin against the corner of the fireplace. (No bones broke.) He yelled at me about it and swore that anything requiring ladders was now his job. And he stuck to that for the remainder of his time at home.
Carrying too many groceries home and pulled my wrist out of joint? "All you had to do was call and we would have come and helped you." ... and they (he and his younger brother) did so until they moved away.

Sent messages to sons asking to schedule short #videochat sessions tomorrow.
I normally have one with #sonOne and #GD1 and #GD2 (on rare occasions daughter-in-law pops in for a few minutes) Sunday afternoons, but recently, his work schedule has interfered.
I normally have them Fridays and Sundays with #sonTwo and #GS3 and #GS4 (sometimes daughter-in-law, but she's often busy), but we missed tonight's session.
Sessions with #Daddy_A, #A1, #A2, and #A3 are infrequent, and he often has device issues that prevent it. (That is, his iPhone and iPad don't display notifications or make sounds ... he even took the phone in for service; they couldn't correct it, so they replaced it.)

I used to work with this guy named Scott. Scott bought books and music cassette tapes for #sonTwo, sometimes with a âyour dad has to read/listen before you can have itâ.
-
Speaking of #sonTwo, he's interviewing for a job that pays double what his current job pays. It would require an out of state move.
So if I get hired and he gets hired at the right times, I can rent his house in MO while he rents a place in $OTHER_STATE.

On the #Netflix thing, all three kids had Netflix accounts, but now at least the younger two do not. I'm not sure whether they have Disney+ accounts, but I do know 2nd son had one for a while (because #sonTwo watched The Mandalorian for a while). I think they both just have basic cable TV + cable Internet now.
-
Also, I've heard from both #sonTwo and #Daddy_A and apparently, the graphics tablets I sent are really small. Neither one is complaining, but they did mention its size.
I think one of them is going to try to draw some designs and pay to have them put on t-shirts and mugs that they can sell online.
-
#sonTwo: I'm going to start looking for a property with two houses on it. That way, you can teach #GS3 to count, teach him the alphabet, teach him reading.
I think he's getting a little ahead of things. I don't have a replacement job yet.
