I had a delightful videochat conversation with #sonTwo, his wife, and #GS3. We talked about the island assignment offer and whether we could find a way to continue having these chats regularly if I was in the other timezone.
I’ve just hinted at it with #sonOne, because I’m sure it would be even harder to continue my chats with seven year old #GD2.
It’s already hard to schedule time with #Daddy_A to chat with those kids. We *think* we’ll have one this Saturday, for the first time this year.

An island location of $EMPLOYER is asking for people to come work there. I’m concerned about #timezones possibly preventing me from videochatting with grandkids.
I want to talk with #sonOne about scheduling chats with #GD1 and #GD2 before I head to the #hairport. #sonTwo already said they’ll try to adapt #GS3’s schedule to enable communication.

@amic Yeah. I know. I always worked evenings, weekends, and holidays. Fifteen years after that changed, I still don't know what to do with myself on Saturdays.

But I was off almost every Wednesday when #sonOne was in high school. When #sonTwo and #Daddy_A were in middle school and high school, that changed to Tuesdays and Thursdays.

Naturally, those were the days I got the kids (plus the odd weekend).

I didn't get to #videochat with #GD2 today*, but I did get a brief session when #sonTwo called to let me say good night to #GS3.
* For the 3rd week in a row. I'll have to check with #sonOne tomorrow to see whether she's been doing her chores and homework. Usually, when she doesn't call, it is because he took her electronics away again.

The two youngest ( #sonTwo, #Daddy_A ) are both feeling stress over their wives medical issues and the related financial impacts.

Everyone else got theirs, but #sonTwo’s delivery today did not include the Yubico security key I bought him. I just went ahead and bought a replacement.

@kaniini@pleroma.dereferenced.org As @amic (and #sonTwo and #GS1) can tell you, Sprint's "unlimited" data plan also slows to a crawl after a certain number of gigs.

No, I don’t fit that shirt any more, so I donated it.

@whistlewright I read two or three of the Harry Potter books with #sonTwo. And now he's in his thirties.

#sonTwo says I've been buying #GS3 outfits that match what I would wear. He sent a photo. Yes, I have a shirt like that.

I sent #sonTwo a cheap camcorder, so he can send me video of #GS3, but he says it needs full sun to get a decent shot.

#GS3 (about 4 months old) is outgrowing his 3-6 months clothes I bought him last month. Time to order a larger size. (Just got off a videochat where he smiled at me and squealed.) I think he's a direct clone of #sonTwo. Now to call #sonOne and hope I'm not too late.

@moonman #sonTwo sort of liked Mall Cop 1 in 2009. I never heard him say anything about Mall Cop 2.

#sonTwo is going to quit his 2nd job. The small amount of additional money isn’t worth missing more time with his wife and #GS3.

@brandon My oldest son ( #sonOne ) built me a little arcade countertop with a !RasPi, but it is too large to bring when I'm working out of town. Thinking about giving it to his brother ( #sonTwo ) just so it'll get used.

I paid the $1,500 cost when #sonTwo bought a used Macbook online from Best Buy last year. After it stopped booting and Geek Squad would not touch it, I am reiterating my commitment to never buy anything from their online operations again.
Supposedly it was bought from a third party, not $_NYSE[BBY], but there was no indication at the time, and he picked it up at the local store.
