The reason I shipped these now is that I included clothing and three of the four recipients are two and under. If I wait, they might outgrow their gifts.
@sikkdays Before I gave up on superhero movies, I saw #1990s versions of #Batman and #Spiderman. I found them non-enjoyable (though #sonTwo got hooked on DC superhero movies and still likes them today).
#sonTwo was in too many fights as a 6th grader, even though "fight" was him standing there and letting someone else hit him. The school threatened to send him to the county's juvenile detention center for his daily classes.
Meanwhile, #Daddy_A's school was near a racially-troubled high school, and the bigger kids' mass fights (school district: "they were not race riots") spilled over onto his campus, so he was afraid to go back.
Thank God for charter schools. Neither one of them would have made it without them.
They do have Internet access again (finally!). I'm looking forward to live two-way video, so that #GS3 and my granddoggy can get to know my face and voice even before we meet in person.

lnxw48a1I reminded #Daddy_A that at one point, the Iraq war was going poorly and there were rumors that the US was going to reinstate the draft in order to supply the numbers they needed there. I had decided that I would attempt to sneak he and #sonTwo into Mexico (with the help of a nephew that is a Mexican citizen) if the draft happened.
We were talking about all the different family members who helped me raise them after the mother married a guy who wanted nothing to do with teen boys.
My son has an interview for a better-paying position with his current employer. My nephew is settled into his government agency job and starting to turn down offers outside the agency (I told him to move to another employer before he hits the five year mark). My co-worker’s GF just left our $EMPLOYER for another agency and now she’s starting to make hints that maybe he should be looking to leave.
