Several other authors of software that accesses the Twitter API have come to that conclusion as well. When #Twidere, my phone app to access Twitter stopped accessing Twitter back in January I pretty much abandoned Twitter. I still check Twitter with its WebUI, less than once a week, but I no longer post or engage there.
But Twitter still gets used by some organizations I do work for, so I do post from their accounts. I wonder how long it will be before they abandon Twitter too.
@lucianlutrae Unfortunately, yeah. I *think* #Twidere might be able to do this, but I've also heard some people report that it has not being working properly with Mastodon accounts recently. It's been quite a long time since I used it, but it could be worth checking out.
For some reason, refreshing the homepage is not working with !twidere and @diogo 's fork of !gnusocial (and neither nginx nor phpfpm logs seem to return anything problematic)
#yunohost is so far the only project from where positive feedback came, after I posted an issue into their repo that's about 'using github is indirectly supporting fascism and how to possibly resist through the usage/disusage of the same' (a call to take action)
Me from the #twidere#github discussion: (just wanted to make my misstake visable)
>And you think I'm privileged?
I made assumptions with that I shouldn't. I should have asked instead. But I guess what I actully ment (behind the rage I had) was more to reflect on your privilidges, since I believe we all have some. I honestly apologize for 'reflect on your privilidged life'. That was manipulative, wrong, offensive....etc.
This is the moment I where I stop to do promotion for #twidere sometimes, delete it from my phone and suggest others to do the same.
Their type of behaviour is complicit in enabeling #fascism through them kicking out people that are disturbing their shiny world with issues that *are* completly relevant to their #opensource project.
I cannot accept this in any way. Fuxk you twidere dev. (Mariotaku)
I've wrote an issue about how the use of #github is indirectly supporting fascism and how it can be with low effort be used as an oportunity for struggle against closed societies/borders (in specific the violence condicted by #ICE) and closed software (in specific #microsoft).
And there is such a discusting ignorant culture coming straight into my face:
dev of #twidere called it being just irrelevant spamming to their clean and shiny world
#AndStatus for android is somehow the only Mastodon client that doesn't lose toots on my timeline or make the timeline jump around every time I load new toots. The ui isn't as good as #Twidere or #Mastalab, but "shows me all my toots and doesn't lose my place" is a non-negotiable feature set.
