    Oh, dang. I don't know then. I browse with Privacy Badger but not a true ad blocker, so maybe that's how I got around it? I don't have an alternate link. Sorry. πŸ₯Ί

    The reason dull meetings in cramped conference rooms make you sleepy is literally because there are too many people breathing in an enclosed space, apparently.

    @bgcarlisle I saw a thread somewhere that had people positing they created the DISCO workout shirts entirely to get people to stop referring to the show as STD...

    The bad news is that I am very unlikely to finish season two before my free trial of Crave ends, and I don't really want to pay $9.99/mo for a single show. I checked the library for DVDs, but they've only got season one and don't seem to have season two on order yet.

    I know there are other options, but I try not to pirate stuff these days (partly because I'm lazy and partly because it seems like Canadian ISPs are more apt to give customer info to studios than they used to be)

    I finished the first season of Star Trek Discovery the other night (what's the shorthand of the series, btw? Surely, we're not calling it STD). I like it.

    The serial nature of it feels very different from past Trek, but it's good and felt more Trekky the longer I watched.

    Also, I like that the characters seem like real people. Most Trek characters in past series really just felt like characters...Discovery's crew feels more real and complicated, which I like.

    @gatewave lol, yep.

    Looking more closely, a lot of the "recipes" are actually, like, three ingredients and not difficult, and many of the things she lists as snacks would make a perfectly fine breakfast, IMO (of course, I say this as a not-pregnant-person).

    The other problem is that there are a lot of things we don't normally buy, but we're due for a grocery run, so that's not a huge issue.

    Wife is pregnant. We got a doula who is also a nutritionst and includes prenatal meal planning in her services. We just got the meal plan and I basically feel like we need a professional cook and personal shopper to make this stuff...wow. Looks impressive, but overwhelming, too.

    @eleanorkonik I used to use Facebook events a LOT when it was new. I mostly don't use that feature anymore, but I think you're right. They do have a really good event system and I think that is probably one of the biggest draws for a lot of people.

    Do people still use Facebook for anything other than groups?

    Groups are literally the only reason I still have a Facebook account. I even use a browser plug-in that hides my news feed, so I just get notifications for the groups I post in and don't see anything else.

    Rolling up the sleeves on a t-shirt, like you're a 1950s greaser, minus the cigarette pack, is a power move. It also works regardless of gender.

    @Shamar @bgcarlisle @rysiek This whole debate reminds of the different between the way Mastodon and Pleroma handle "NSFW" images.

    Mastodon says "Midden hidden, click to view."

    Pleroma has a giant 18+ NSFW graphic which, honestly, is often misleading because the images are often not actually NSFW, but just considered "sensitive" for one reason or another.

    Of course "mastodon culture" tends to be more liberal in marking things as sensitive.

    @ThatGeoGuy Of course that's a real thing...lol

    I'm offended that the video refers to a toaster oven as "a standard toaster." No...that's a toaster oven and, despite the name, making toast is the thing it's worst at. (I've also never seen a toaster oven that's only $45.)

    Does anyone around here make cool shirts on redbubble or similar? I want to get a few new ones since all my tech conference shirts have holes in them now or are too big. Would also love to support some "local" artists.
