@FssOfDeath @thurloat It's mostly a meme. Some boomer newspaper columnist in, I think, Australia, wrote the classic line about millennials not being able to buy homes because they're spending too much money on avocado toast. Dude was probably out for brunch, saw it on the menu, saw literally one younger person eating it and went home to write his weekly column. But I don't think it's actually common in most places...it's just a meme.

They also have an "evening menu," which seems to be a smaller selection of toasts, plus pizzas (whch I bet are just extra large pieces of toast with pizza toppings).

@allan That's fair. I recall a lot of sunbathers at the Leg grounds, mostly in the grassy areas near the fountains, but it's been years since I've been down there other than for Canada Day festivities.

Gah. Tow vehicle is a 4-way flat. Trailer is a 7-pin. If it was the other way around, no biggie! It's a $10 adaptor. But this way...it's more expensive and I've got to, like, drill into the frame of the car to mount the adapter. Yikes. I guess I probably won't be switching out those tires tomorrow.

@JordiGH @technomancy @nolan TL;DR: I find the fediverse is generally pretty high on "engagement" and people will usually talk to you if you strike up a convo and aren't an asshole. :)

@nolan @technomancy @JordiGH I mostly don't pay attention to follower counts when I'm deciding to follow someone. It's just: do they have good posts and/or did they interact with something I posted (which isn't a guaranteed follow, but will at least get my attention).

I probably follow "celebrities." I think the only person who has never responded to a chat is Eugen, but he probably legit has way too much noise in his notifications.

@JordiGH @technomancy I forgot you can see accurate follower numbers if you go to a person's profile on their native instance. Because, looking at @nolan's account on my instance, he's only got 17 followers! 😂

@wryhta @tek That's not a direct quote and those typos are mine...but that's basically the gist, with the thesis being that "campus SJWs" don't understand that fascism and communism are both "leftist" economic philosophies, but fascism is more authoritarian.
