i know we are fragile folks & have a lot to lose by making contact with the wrong people

i know this well enough, because i've experienced partner abuse by trans women in the community

but i've also survived that as well as homelessness & suicidal depression thanks to people in this family i love dearly

the most dangerous thing you can be is alone

@zinnia hey, have you noticed the phenomenon that sometimes occurs when someone realizes they're trans, their mental health begins to deteriorate real quick in proportion to how much stress and how slowed/obstructed the transition process is?

i'm curious how widespread it is and if medical practitioners even recognize it

it always impresses the crap out of me when a cis man can say "i'm sorry" for a thing he did, without qualifiers or deflection like

- i'm sorry it was upsetting
- i'm sorry if you felt offended
- i'm sorry it was poorly worded

those ain't it

an apology isn't the end of the world, especially if you do it early

to me it makes you look stronger, safer to be around, more reflective and thoughtful, not to mention it's sadly a rare thing to see
