@moonman As an associated point: Free software should not be gated by other political views. The cause of free software is important enough and good enough, that we should be able to tolerate people we don't like or don't agree with contributing in it.

@hinterwaeldler This is why you'll never find good tech journalism on The Verge (or WIRED, for that matter). They rely on close relationships for exclusives, and they lose those exclusives if they tick off the companies.

So Google's showing off their AI making calls pretending to be a human to make appointments with unsuspecting other people, and also demonstrated how easily short voice recordings can be used to emulate someone else's voice.

Does anyone at Google not realize how dark this future becomes if the company isn't shut down?

It regularly adds and documents locations you can get books online for free, including HathiTrust and Google Books. It solely includes material you can get in it's entirety, not just books Google has indexed but doesn't share.
