@garbados (i just remember thinking it might be interesting to take a look at AP, see if it’s a reasonable amount of behaviour to implement, but i quickly realised it’d be *way* too much dependency learning until i understood the spec than i can afford right now, with thesis work upcoming)

@garbados hmmm, sounds like it. and your next toot, on how AP is heavier on non-federation aspects, certainly puts that into a less bad sounding context. if AP is doing its thing, and federation mechanisms are mostly convention right now, they may eventually develop into their own specifications on how to federate AP and/or AP-likes.

@garbados they were clinging very hard to every straw that allowed them to keep their exceptionalism intact. (which, despite all the hilarity it caused, is a quite scary stance. ‘another system can’t be better because then ours couldn’t be the best and we know we are the best’ is… quite poisonous.)

@garbados from what american discussion partners told me, the privilege seems to be The Best Healthcare In The World (tm) and the Freedom not to get your meds from the DMV (?!?) and getting all the care you can pay for, not what some dumbass expert thinks can help (if there was any care at all in the realm of what people can pay for without going bankrupt).

@garbados since i deem you generally knowledgeable about stuff: do you per chance know what happened with that yucky relationship/attraction model in rimworld? did that ever get fixed?
