@deadsuperhero ans then also the petrol or electricity that powers your car, just as the Internet Service Provider, you should pay for that and there must be many competitors as those Public fiber roads need to be available on the open market for any ISP to provide services onto.

@deadsuperhero instslling a fiber cable is like building a road, it's a one time cost and should be covered by taxes. The routers/modems you then use at the end nodes to use the fiber you have to buy in the private market, just as the cars aren't provided for you by the Government. Though Gov can do free public Gigabit WiFi/Ethernet hookups at public parks, public libraries etc. It's basic logic.

    Oil industry subsidy: $ Trillions
    Solar/Wind/etc subsidy: $ Billions

    You're fighting the wrong fight.

There are 1000x larger oil/gas/coal/gas powered car conglomerates than they are little startups getting Government subsidized seed money to invest in clean energy R&D

You really think people like Al Gore wouldn't be making just the same amount of $ Millions without talking about climate change? And why don't you just check his proof that all his climate change profits he gives all to charity.

@Xil ok sure, you go around blaming the aliens for global warming. I suggest we stop burning all the oil, gas, coal so enthusiastically and we consider to better use the free unlimited energy from the sun instead.

@Combaticus and the proportion of electoral college votes has always been meant to be more or less proportional with the population density of each state. It's just wrong that a vote for president in California be worth 3.6 times less than a vote in Wyoming. And it's really dumb to have these candidates campaign like that only in the swing states while the rest of the country's presidential votes basically don't make any difference.
Suggesting that's a good system is wrong.

@Combaticus suggesting that the founders of the US constitution just knew how everything should be forever is just wrong. There have been 27 ratified amendments thus far, the constitution was designed to be changed as human progress in the USA would suggest for it. It's simply completely dumb that California with a population of nearly 40 million should have only 2 senators same amount as Wyoming which has a population something like only 500 thousand.

@ChrisWilson @Xil the push of the Paris accord is simple, to get all countries to agree to do something to reduce the dirty CO2 and whatever other bad pollution that is happening locally or that is being outsourced like the US does a lot with China manufacturing for example.

@ChrisWilson @Xil and if anything is montized, it's the oil, coal and gas, it's not the friggen solar panels and wind mills, there can be hundreds or thousands of different companies making those solar panels and wind mills, but there is only a handful of companies controlling all the oil, gas and coal on this planet. So if anything is being heavily monetized it's the current heavily CO2 polluting system that you are promoting.

@ChrisWilson @Xil So you're betting your children and grand children's future on this planet at all this crazy climate change happening because of the sun, just a coincidence that we humans are burning up all the oil and coal at the same time. You're saying this is a coincidence. It's like saying it's a coincidence if you get dizzy right after I punch you in the face.

@Xil that's like saying that you have to prove me that you won't get damaged if I punch you in the face. The damage we are currently doing to the planet may get to quickly be as bad as the Cretaceous–Paleogene extinction event that killed off every species weighting over 25 kilos off the whole planet (except crocodiles and large turtles) that killed off dinosaurs and 75% of all plants and animals off the planet. We might be doing the same just cause you want to cling onto your damn petrol car.

@Combaticus how can you even imagine direct democracy 300 years ago when you have absolutely no idea that one day there would be the Internet, that one day you can fly from one side of the country to the other while watching 2 movies and taking a poop.

@Iamthebammbamm that's patently false. The US is only 5% of the world population but the US does more than 25% of the global pollution (not including all the pollution that US companies do outside the USA for example Apple does manufacturing all iPhones in China), that's way more than any country in the world in terms of pollution per person, you comparing that to poor Indians many who live on $1 per day, that's just sad. A US person pollutes about 25x more than an average person in India.

@YoVinnie Hey I need that ad revenue on my YouTube videos, they just need to improve monetization let people one-click to buy things mentioned in videos and let the people chose favorite product search for example if you prefer to buy from amazon prime it can mainly show you results on that. That would 10x income for content creators on YouTube. And it's ok if Google takes enough money to run the YouTube servers, it's the largest website bandwidth/storage in the world.

@Combaticus The only reason the electoral college was created was because they could not imagine the telegraph, telephone, email, internet, trains, cars, airplanes back then they had to send out the electoral college on horses for weeks to the convention, yet still there was no way to be sure an elected rerpesentative of the electoral college would vote according to his state's vote, there was no way to check it reliably.

@Iamthebammbamm millions of people die each year because of extreme weather events and climate change. There're terrible droughts, hard to still get drinking water at huge growing % of the planet. And yes it's all the US's fault, you pollute like pigs, you ha e by far the highest amount of CO2 emittions and other pollution per person, you cause all the shit you also have to pay for it. The only reason Irma wasn't that bad on Florida was because poor regions like Cuba took all the damage.

Just because there were hurricanes and floods in the past does not mean humans haven't caused climate change!!! Just because there is snow does not mean global warning is a fake! Just because there was an ice age 10 thousand years ago does not mean we just happen to naturally be entering another one!!! The last ice age laste 2.6 million years, do you understand the fuck up that US CO2 burning is causing to our planet??

Echo chamber much? How can they keep arguing against human affected climate change? How ironic that US drops out of Paris accord and then gets slammed by the two worse hurricanes in history within 2 weeks of eachother. And the US is the richest country in the world, imagine how poor people are coping with climate change in the third world. For example just last week more than 1200 people died in India, Nepal and Bangladesh, millions forced from their homes and 18,000 schools closed.
