At the gym today, my trainer was having me carry some really heavy kettle bells for longer than 2 minutes. I couldn't get passed 41 seconds, but still, some of the PTs there were like, "Hey, Joe, your trainee is pretty strong!!"

I'm like, "You over-estimate my abilities, sir." I've never weight-lifted before in my life.

@enkiv2 re: text-mode editors -- I want to use text-mode editors because I don't want to have to learn different interfaces for what I need to accomplish if I'm on my computer at home, if I'm at the office SSHed into a remote server, or if I get paged at night and have to SSH onto production machines with my cell phone.

Unless and until they make graphical IDEs that can pull a uniform interface across those situations off, I'll stick with text.

Not passing judgement, but I do find it fascinating that virtually *all* of the password manager packages/tools that I've researched today are by companies not in the USA. I'm willing to go so far as to say that exactly *zero* are in the USA.

@Elizafox That's not at all how I remember it coming to be, but I *sure* like your explanation a whole lot better. ;)

@flussence Yeah; looking for a quicker solution. But, this looks like a good foundation for a web-based interface. I might consider writing one!

@flussence If everyone here knew some basic Unix, I'd go with this. Alas, half the people who'll be using this are equipped with iPads and Microsoft Surfaces; a web-based interface is regrettably a hard requirement for us. :(

Hey #LazyWeb, I'm looking to set up a password manager that our start-up can use in-house. What is a good password manager solution which is easy to install, trusted, and self-hosted? I DO NOT CARE IF IT'S WEB 1.0. I just need something that works and is secure. Could write one myself, I guess, but would prefer to use OTS solutions if one exists. Thanks!!

@clacke @galaxis Newer is relative. I wasn't specific, but I was referring to things like, e.g., SuperCPU 64, which is a 65816 20MHz accelerator for the computer. So you can do things like FLI video rendering in a live game, for instance, to get more colors on the screen than you could otherwise. (Plus, the 16MB of RAM helps.)

@djsundog @KitRedgrave The RC2014 was built with the Z80 in mind, but also had a 6502 card too. A recent backplane expansion looks like it's being prepared to see a 68000 card too.

@flussence It's not bare metal; it does ship with PureOS. But, it's not fully installed or configured either, it seems. I think it's because it *enforces* disk encryption (you get no choice in that matter).

@flussence I'm going to do the same, I think, unless I can find a reasonable source for a Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga 2 in the near term. Personal projects aside, I can't work in IT and not have a way to shell into remote boxes for as long as I have so far. We had a critical infra outage at work just last week, and driving into the office to deal with it just sucked.
