If I didn't have this raging headache, I could probably focus on being productive today. Either vis-a-vis the KCP53000B processor, or housework, or ... *something*. :(

That's a pretty heavyweight implementation. I wonder how one would write exec-style doubly-linked lists in Rust. I've been meaning to research this, but it's low on my priority list.

@fribbledom Sorry, correction:
It is terribly off-putting to have a contributor work hard at something, only to never hear from the *maintainers* again ...

@fribbledom If you find you are burdened with PRs from contributors, then I'd suggest taking the "optimistic merging" approach that 0MQ developers have adopted, where everyone has commit privileges to trunk/master by default. http://hintjens.com/blog:106

@fribbledom It is terribly off-putting to have a contributor work hard at something, only to never hear from the contributors again (despite them being active on their preferred communication channel with other projects).
Seriously. If you can't get to something, *acknowledge* and *thank* the contributor, but be honest: "Hey, I'm trying to solve a deadline, but I'll try to review your PR in XYZ weeks" or something like that.
No joke -- this stuff works both ways.

@fribbledom Speaking from direct and very recent experience -- By the same token, the open source maintainers must be willing to work with contributors. If someone's working on documentation, you should be ready to constructively review and give feedback on said documentation in a timely manner. If a contributor requests a review, please don't put it off.

🤔 I should probably shower and get dressed *before* the landlord shows up, shouldn't I?

Freebie doodles from last nights' Relaunch party stream! I think i might do patreon requests streams more often. This was really fun to just chill with fans, voice chat with patrons, draw some doodles, answer some questions, etc. So stay tuned for more info on those! #art #artist #mastoart #doodle #sketch #headshot #furry #furryart

I can't wait for the day somebody names their child Slackbot, and that child goes on to work at a SaaS company that uses Slack. -

I think I'm going to be needing a new Wi-Fi router here pretty soon. This is the second time in as many months that I've needed to reboot the router for no apparent reason.

Blast from the 2013 past -- one of my pages of notes showing hand-written #forth including formal verification using Hoare triples on the right-hand edge of the page.
This eventually became part of my STS operating system for the #kestrelcomputer Kestrel-2, 3 years before I started work on the Kestrel-2DX.

Thankfully, I've never had this problem; then again, however, I've never had the courage to ask (for exactly the reasons illustrated here).

@freakazoid What would your requirements be? I find it intriguing that sneakernet is coming back, and that brings back memories of apps that printed directory labels for floppies. Heh.
Also, IBM mainframe "catalogs", which were basically a 2nd level of directory lookups that were able to span volumes (including those not mounted anymore).

Storage has been getting cheaper at a much faster rate than bandwidth, which makes now a better time than ever to self-host.
Actually, it makes now a better time than ever for *sneakernet*. Which has the added bonus that, unlike self-hosting, it's pretty intuitive for most people.
Are there good (as in easy to use for the average no-techie) apps for cataloging external storage?
