I think this is one of those things that is harder to explain than to actually see working 😕
If you can get it operating, I think it becomes a lot clearer 👍

To avoid confusion, here's a step-by-step guide to putting your #Wordpress blog on the #Fediverse:
1. Log into your Wordpress site
2. Go to "Plugins", "Add New", search for "ActivityPub" plugin, install and activate it.
3. Go to "Users", then "Your Profile". Scroll down, and right at the bottom there's a new section called "Fediverse" with the blog's Fediverse address.
4. Share this address on #Mastodon etc, people will be able to follow it by pasting it into the search box and following it!

Don't worry, it's nothing to do with Friendica :blobsmile:
Have you added the plugin to your blog?
If so, log into your Wordpress settings,then go to "Users", then "Your Profile", then scroll down until you get to a section that says "Fediverse".
That's where you can find your blog's Fediverse address, and people can follow this address from Friendica, Mastodon etc.

It has to be the fediverse address, rather than just the website address.
If you go to the "Your Profile" section you should see a "fediverse" section that tells you the blog's address.
The plugin adds a "Fediverse" section which tells you the user's blog's fediverse address.

You'd have to let people know the address of the blog so they can follow it?

If you've just added your blog to the Fediverse, you would have no followers from the Fediverse?

Just to make clear, your blog's address isn't in the plugin's own settings.
It's in Wordpress's ""Users: Your Profile: Fediverse" section (see screenshot).

@orn @pfefferle @PhieLaidMignon
I think Phie said the address of the blog changed today, so the .ovh one won't work anyway.

@trawzified @gxtony @badrihippo
There was a discussion of this topic a week or two ago? I can't find the thread though :blobsad:
The consensus was that there's no clear way to do this privately/ethically, because whoever protects you would be able to spy on your traffic.

Their Open Library site is a good way to explore Internet Archive's books:

I think @zleap is on Friendica which also allows people to follow RSS feeds.

I think that's how it works, yes. But please do try it with your own blog first, I'm not sure :blobsmile:

I don't use this myself so I'm not 100% sure, but I think you can just search for the blog's address in Mastodon to get a follow link?

A number of people have asked how to make Wordpress blogs federate with the Fediverse (including Mastodon and Pixelfed).
You can do this by adding the ActivityPub for Wordpress plugin from here:
https://wordpress.org/plugins/activitypub/
When the plugin is installed, it allows anyone on the Fediverse to follow your Wordpress blog.
It's still in beta, the plugin's developer is @pfefferle

Thunderbird is pretty good, it is definitely worth trying if you can.
I've worked in office jobs where they used Thunderbird, didn't seem to cause any problems.

There's a plugin which adds ActivityPub compatibility to Wordpress made by @pfefferle , you can get it at:
