@maiyannah You know better than I do how good people are at suppressing their rationality when it suits their desires. Doesn't mean the rational thing isn't a very small room licked from the outside for them, of course.
@maiyannah @bob @cwebber I read that as "Most UK trains are quite odd" and given what I know of the UK railway "system" that wouldn't surprise me either. :P

VeriusAs an aspie the whole notion of autistic screeching is kinda funny. I'm not saying autists cannot be pre-occupied with stuff and very "enthuisiastic" about special interest but it feels like most of the time the people doing the "austistic" screeching are just neurotypicals who desperately want to belong in a group (group conformance drive tends to be a bit lower among autists).
Meanwhile plenty of "social justice" types have no trouble attaching negative stigma to autism because apparently that's not a protected disorder.
> Ok, so I first get strong then kick the crap out of the nemesis, right? > Gather a few crystals. > Hey nemesis, could you maybe wait with burning my city down until I've finished setting up? > Ah crap, that's one character down. > Oh **** nemesis will now do the heavy strike thing three of its turns in a row. > And there's the game.
Honestly, if I had beaten the game on the first round even with the starter setup and the easiest nemesis I would have been kinda disappointed. Now it's just trying to figure out what I did wrong.
@maiyannah Yeah, it's been going on for a while. American attitude to softcore porn though, so heavily censored but still with all the benefits of porn in a game, which is to say plot as thin as the clothes worn by females in them.
Steam being shit isn't a new thing though, they're just trying to innovate in the kind of shit.
@gameragodzilla @maiyannah I imagine suppressors are the difference between waking people when you shoot a gun and people hearing it in the background.
* Something to convert a semi-automatic weapon into an automatic weapon.
* Something that reduces accuracy to such a degree I've read that the NRA bans them from their shooting ranges because they are a hazard (badly aimed bullets ricochetting and such).
* Useless for shooting at moving targets.
I don't think it's right to ban bump stocks outright. But I do think it makes a lot of sense to restrict the sale of them to people who have a license for handling automatic weapons since otherwise you have a loophole that makes it easy for people to get very crappy automatic weapons if they otherwise would not be able to.
As you say the only place you'd use them is on a gun range but if those ban them for safety reasons what's the legimitate use case?
Yes, I'm aware of the millions of soldiers, officers and such who have died defending our freedom. We have a name for them: heroes. The people killed in Vegas weren't defending anyone's freedom, they were simply gunned down by a mad man.
