If you are in the Americas or the Pacific and you need a good sleepy time tonight, why not tune your trusty shortwave radio to 2.5, 5, 10, or 15mhz to listen to the soooooothing and smoooooth #WWV and #WWVH as they broadcast funky time pulses and space weather information for you? The robot radio stations are really quite hypnotic.
I discovered a few weeks late, natch, that SKS keyservers are now deprecated thanks to poor security. The weevils finally gnawed through. Public keys themselves still work, apparently uncompromised per se. But an attack using many multiple signatures can crash GPG. For this and many other reasons, itβs best to use the next generation keyserver being built at:
@dirtycommo I guess what I mean is that for the most part Iβm really too tired and old for waving red banners and singing the Internationale. I donβt think checking our privilege will heal the planet either, like the identarians proffer. I want, nay, demand policy changes. I donβt care if they call it a corporate kingdom and crown Bozo emperor if the plutocrats are cast down, children stop dying from hunger, if healthcare is universal, and the forests stop getting torched. I want the policy.
@dirtycommo Honestly, and Iβm highly ambivalent for personal reasons, communism as a βflagβ doesnβt have a great reputation naturally because of the authoritarian directions Lenin, Mao etc. took it. But the ideal dimension yet has some merit if it is held as a worthy framework for practical policy directions. I wouldnβt mind the Gay Space Luxury Communism myself, if it had healthy libertarian / democratic lineaments, but doubt communism, ideologically, is how it might happen most places now.
@dirtycommo I think I understand what you mean... And I agree in many ways. When communism or whathaveyou becomes what Tillich called βquasi-religionsβ, they inherently must fail, because their aims become ideological instead of policy oriented. Itβs always been a failing of the Left. And criticized by Chomsky, by the way, who similarly stresses that popular movements are not triggered by tHeOry, but critical mass of need for palpable freedom.
@dirtycommo Depends. If your instance is pleuraoma, can probably post it all in one toot due to higher message caps. Otherwise, 500 word segmented toots just like Birdsite. Or if super long, why not a journal then link?
@fluttergirly Thatβs true, and many interesting haunts, especially if you hike the hills or do some kayaking. Hard to drive there, too, natch. I hope you donβt get stuck on I5 too often!
Thank you to all who tuned in live to the Intergalactic Wasabi Mix on aNONradio.net! ... and of course huge thanks to all the DAMGUD CYBERCHATTERS of SDFland! π
Pls check out the playlist for last nite's episode... which is Episode 666 by the way π LOL:
@fluttergirly Rather! Los Angeles is abysmal. Not a great representative of cities. There are more fun cities in which to tool about. Visit Venice sometime or Stockholm. Even Vancouver, if you donβt have to drive, that is. Anything but LA.
