@will Yes, but at least you can have multiple binaries installed. :-) dynamic languages have issues, unless the systems are carefully constructed to play nice with each other.

I usually do this about once every 4 months. I don't have the time to do incremental compiles on a *laptop* daily. I have things to do with my life and my computer. It's a miserable slog every time. But the machine runs nicely other than that.

This is, by the by, a major reason to consider Go for your deployment system. Not that Go is a great language. It's not. But its build system is designed for deployment, which is great.

I use Gentoo because I like having finely tuned control over the system, and it is always educational. However, education tends to come via maintenance windows. Unlike Debian. :-).

I have a set of resources that I'll be going through to build notes, that'll be turned into a blog, and then I'll be implementing at least one algorithm. I'd like to go for the soft real time multithreaded GC as a target implementation.

Today my goal is to add another layer to my painting. This is a detail layer, the first real detail layer, adding a new hue to what was previously a single hued multivalued painting.

It's an underwater ruins scene, so any color will dramatically yank the eye. Any mistake will be visible.

some careful thought and photographs strongly suggest that the prehistoric Willendorf/Venus sculptures were women sculpting the body they saw. Note, there are B&W pictures of nudity in that thread.

Very fascinating stuff, it gives me much more appreciation for the ancient creators.

I pretty much autofollow anyone who is a professor, phd candidate, or journalist. Largely because they provide Good and Deep Knowledge about the world, hard to get from other sources without enormous time reading.
