@brennen Informally, I am unable to meaningfully differentiate the lulz nihilism that has been ongoing from the early 00s from pre-SA days to fark to 4chan to reddit to masto. Targets vary, the memetic narrative stays the same. It's absurdly corrosive to reasonable discussion.

I have an enormous mute/block list of masto shitposters. Some of them are nice people, I think. But I've got better things to do with my mind.
