At #ExtinctionRebellion camp in Berlin, I found out that I had a big misconception about tree growth.
While I knew that trees suck CO2 out of the air, I still thought that most of the "matter" that the tree is composed of comes from the soil it grows in. Apparently this is entirely wrong and trees essentially grow out of "thin air"?! Is this true, and where can I find out more about this?

yeah I know. I tried calling their normal (non-emergency number) before and there you get automatic voicemail telling you their office hours. That's why I decided to call the emergency number. And the emergency operator didn't say that it was wrong to call this number.

Make sure you don't have an emergency in Berlin - calling the emergency number takes a while.
