Ever since YouTube exists and you can just skip ahead in a video by half a minute or so, I simply can't watch TV anymore without the constant urge to fast forward.

It's kinda funny how it makes me furious that this anachronism of a technology still exists.

If only we had properly working multicast streams over these intertubes: we could save precious frequencies and so much bandwidth.

Ok, that does look a bit rough indeed 😆

I'll post some snaps when I'm done with my first real "wooden" print!

Just curious... which brand was that? You don't happen to have a photo of a sample print online somewhere?

Uuuuh, ordered some Wood PLA filament this afternoon and it just arrived! (yes, this is a composite material that contains actual wood dust)

I guess you know what I'll be doing the next couple of hours 😉

"Which Programming Languages Use the Least Electricity?"

Sounds like a silly question, but makes for a rather intriguing read!

You people voted and we got ourselves a winner!

Champion of the 1st Inofficial Programming Language World Championships:

    PYTHON

    (73 - 27 over Bash)

Thanks to everyone who participated in the polls! It's been a lot of fun over the past two weeks and I'm sure we'll do this again! Probably sometime in the winter, when I'm bored & more instances support polls 😆

If you're an avid open-source user who would love to help advance a project, there's a lot you can contribute whether you can program or not:

Provide constructive feedback, file bug reports, improve the documentation or help out maintaining the web & social media presence. Spread the word and recommend the projects you love to others (btw, I run Arch 😂)

Say "thank you" and tell developers to "keep up the great work". That form of contribution means a lot more than you could possibly imagine.

😂 No, luckily I know my keys without looking at them. Also, the keys are never completely dark: they scale between 10% and 100% brightness.

    Most are speed ratings:

The "3" in the "U" shape: the Ultra High Speed Class rating. Class 3 means 30MB/s.

There's often another number (like 10) in a circle next to it. This is the old-school Speed Class rating, 10 standing for 10MB/s.

"A2" is the Application Performance Class: unlike the speed classes above, this guarantees a sustainable sequential write speed of 20MB/s.

"V30" stands for Video Speed Class: again 30MB/s.

At least 1TB and MicroSDXC are obvious 😂
