Yo @dcgirl, my Wife is a dyed in the wool, card carrying Luddite. Just spent a month in the car with her and agreed to no digital anything (i snuck an mp3 player). We did paper maps the whole way. Not only do they get you where you wanna go, they created a ton of conversation, more than a couple of arguments, and they have a ton more info on them when you take the time to read them. A paper map, a compass and FTW 😎

Yo @Ardral On a medical note, one of the things I found interesting during our trip relates to the opiate epidemic here. While driving in the south there were any number of roadside billboards for the services of "pain clinics". Stocked with a receptionist, a "Dr.", a box of bic pens and a case of prescription pads and contacts with a pharmacy. What a scam. Easing the epidemic could be achieved with some well placed raids on "legitimate" medical "professionals".

The Wife and I went out on walkabout for a month and this toot escaped me. Thought about you and your family's summer trip while we were lollygagging about. I'll tag you when I post some of the pics and stories. Hope all's well.

Picked up an old '30's or so Hohner piano accordion while we were traveling. Small, 2 - 1/2 octaves but fun as hell to play. I think it was a student's model.
