@frauenfelder I don't know if you're still monitoring this account; I'm going to write a snail-mail letter. I'm bothered by the erratic and hostile response to a simple question I raised. Normally I'd send my concern with a record of correspondence to the publisher but I'd feel better if a mature person agreed to read my letter.

@SlowRain I dipped my Pilot Metropolitan too far into a small bottle of ink and bent the nib. i tried to straighten the tines with tweezers, failed, so the strokes are wide but the ink flows better and the nib is not so scratchy.

Freshly baked beer bread makes wet, cold November days and nights bearable, especially with chili.

Watching #QI #SeriesP "Picnics" and, despite being a lifelong New World person who is not into #tea, I am wholly unsurprised to learn that a "proper" #cuppa has milk poured in first. I once made the mistake of pouring it second in front of an octogenarian from Chester and she lectured me exhaustively.
