@vilbi I did try to gain a better understanding of how the parties compare to one another. DW had a fair number of articles on the election as well as back-grounders on how .de govt works. I worry that most of the elections I follow are nail-biters with the the right and far right encroaching or winning more and more. All over. farage, le penn, trumpy, lasso...
@Yukari You're really living on the edge girl! :-)
Aoi and my boy are having a wonderful time in .jp. They are 'moving' from her parent's place in chiba, chiba to tokyo and will stay with the couple that just got married. Some nice hotsprings, old villages, museums -- the whole 9 yards. i hope they go to that town near kyoto, the one with all the deer.
@AnnaGerber I don't remember you wearing anything unusual in lecture. The only time strangers talk to me it goes: them: aay. me: aay. How's it goin'? them: not bad. you? me: meh. them: sure hot/wet/cold/windy eh? me: yeah, too hot/wet/cold/windy <light changes> k later. take care. yep, ciao.
That or trying for a loony or a toony.
If ever got 'love/darl/sweetie' I'd fall over! :-)
received some #weatherfaxes on #HF from #DWD#Germany - using #Tecsun#PL-880 and #fldigi with homebrew "random wire" (plastic covered washing line running around the perimeter of an upstairs room) and balun made from a ferrite core plugged into external antenna socket.
A crude setup and HF reception is variable here anyway (noise floor increases loads at night and I have to use 3855 KHz instead of 7880) but sometimes gives good results..
@c1t7 I stopped doing my own years ago. I found it to be too much bother. I still install postfix, I just don't allow it to relay any mails (not just as an open relay which would be silly, I mean *any* external mails). I use wildcard mail forwards for one domain, zoho for another domain and also have a gmail account. Zoho's almost as good as gmail for spam filtering these days.
@ChristinaO I know right? I first read about key pairs and encryption in the early 80's. When KDE came along I finally had the means to employ it in Kmail. Wrong! I had exactly zero people to write to. Here I am decades later with exactly 2 friends in northern bc and one in new zealand -- and installed enigmail for both of the guys here in bc.
@gamehawk I'll drop the topic now, but I think you'd really benefit from the ability to make up (and block!) ad hoc email addresses Karen. I still get dozens of emails a day -- but they are mostly from my own cronjobs on various servers! :-) I am NOT that popular!
ORIGINAL VIDEO: Is Canada Ready for Jagmeet Singh? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j2onmR-oBIY more views anyhow. Crazy. Full disclosure: I am a middle-aged white guy born in the UK. I had Sikh foster parents at one point in time. The woman is ranting about sharia law. Crazy. Total nutter. Would I vote for him? Dunno what he espouses yet. But at least I can see he can rule his emotions in the heat of things. Unlikely to, I dunno, name call ppl w/ nukes rocket man... (low blow, sorry (sorta) )
@gamehawk But it takes more than one 'vote' to blacklist a domain at gmail. And your real email address gets spread far and wide from just *one* bad actor -- and you don't know who for sure most times. And it's only ONE address. Making up email addresses on the spot that match the name of the outfit that wants your email address is way better imo, but I've obviously failed to make my case convincingly. Unless you have lots and lots of gmail addresses I guess?
@Angle maybe some other process was contending for a resource your program needed? And now that other process has exited. IDK. There's always a reason tho. If it's repeatable, just be happy and move on!! :-)
