It’s really hard to want to advocate for free software when it often has such a poor UX. I went looking to see if there was a good Calendar app for android, and re-enabled Google Calendar. It turned out to be the exact UX I was looking for and automatically worked with my CalDav Calendar.

@starbreaker I have not, but looking at the screenshots I’m not sure I would be satisfied with it.

Half-tempted to just start using a proprietary e-mail client on Android again. I don’t think I can tolerate K-9 Mail’s awful UX until the redesign lands. It’s taken years so far, and it looks like it will take even more years. I don’t want to wait that long for a useable app.

@haeckerfelix I decided to just stick with OxygenOS. Too many apps I wanted to use don’t work without proper Google Services.

@maryjane @lyliawisteria I could, but really this is just the thing that tipped me over. I already went back to stock, anyway.

@hirojin Which phone do you have? Was it easy to revert back to stock?

I’m considering going back to a stock OS on my phone or installing Google apps again. It’s so frustrating how many apps don’t work with them. The thing that’s breaking the camel’s back for me is that I can’t update my $200 headphones to the latest firmware without them.

Kurzgesagt put out another video on nuclear weopons, and now every fear I’ve had since I learned about them in middle school is in my head again. Part of me wants to move back to the middle of nowhere where I’m less likely to face a direct hit from a nuclear weapon.

@ansugeisler @wlonk @djenderesensjuelist the plot sort of revolves around the character and their actions, and they are written in a way so that viewers are driven to support them, so I’d say so, in general.
