The other thing local BBSes had going for them: there was a good chance you'd actually meet people in person due to physical proximity. Much harder to be a douchebag to someone you can put a face and voice to.

Pretty sure that's always been the case @ChrisWilson.

Back in the BBS days, you usually dialed into a local system in your local area. Conversations were fewer and took place over days and weeks rather than in minutes, as happens today. More time to think and process.

Social media today is like a water cannon in comparison. Butthurt happens in volume and all at once. Too much for everyone to process, even for those of us who used BBSes long ago.

@skypage losing a bunch of weight will also help me as well (something I am working on). Most nights, I don’t have too many issues sleeping. I can sleep just about anywhere, just about anytime 😝

@skypage I found my sleep is generally better after starting to intermittently fast. Even and especially when I jump timezones. No drugs required, though I do take Benadryl at night for allergies and it’s mild sedative qualities.

When it comes to Airlines in the US, we used to have a lot of choices with different levels of service. Then they all went bankrupt and merged. Now we’re left with a few legacy carriers that have similar service levels and a handful of regionals that are also merging (see Virgin America and Alaska).

@lwdallas @Combaticus Southwest is ok but I fly International. Southwest does not. And if you’re doing any serious amount of flying, you want to stick with one airline as much as humanly possible.

All the US airlines suck in different ways. Especially if you don’t have status. With status they suck to varying degrees vaguely less.

@Combaticus it’s all about where you are and where you’re going. Delta works for me because I fly international and SeaTac is one of their hubs. Otherwise, it’s a toss-up.
