@GummyNerds Some of the conversations I've had with the more religious people around this topic had the biggest issue with calling a same-sex union a "marriage." They didn't have as much of on issue with a same-sex union having the same legal benefits as a heterosexual one (though I'm sure some do).

It is ironic (but not surprising) that those that complain about cultural appropriation appropriate culture at every opportunity.

@GummyNerds well... this is a pool I personally wouldn't have waded into.

I think one could make a pretty strong argument that, at least from a societal norms perspective, same-sex marriage is a lot more normalized than it was even 10 years ago. Sure, it doesn't further the species, but natural selection is a thing.

Meanwhile, I tend to let people live their life, which is why I rarely engage in conversations like this.
