@yukiame They were both running with outdated information. And Alonzo was pulling the old "common sense gun control" and "regulate guns like cars" arguments. Neither has any substance.

@HiroProtagonist That's my feeling, too. You can't uninvent these devices. In fact, I have to wonder why more full auto weapons aren't reportedly used in gang violence. Many popular semi-auto weapons are easily converted to full auto with a little know-how. Just search YouTube.

@HiroProtagonist Soon to be outlawed is my prediction. I suspect the ATF will redefine automatic weapons based on device used to increase rate of fire and not the "single pull" mechanics of the finger pulling a trigger.

@EnderX Please see my link. I couldn't find an official hotel policy document, but I've seen at least a couple testimonies that they advertise no firearms in the hotel. If caught doing so, I'd expect weapons charges.

@chris I'm already seeing this cycle. During Obama's term, fear of gun control led to surge of gun sales, limited ammo. During Trump's term, relaxation of gun control fears led to cheaper guns and more accessible ammo.

@chris I can only hope reason prevails. As I posted elsewhere, the hotel already has a "no firearms" policy. Even if that were the law in all Las Vegas, it wouldn't have made an impact.
