    one of the more mindblowing things is watching people who do not work on technoshit try to justify technoshit's shortcomings when it interacts with the real world. you see this in AI a lot, of course, but I've seen it happen in HCI too

    seriously, why do people do that? for fuck's sake, demand better

    To elaborate: aside from lack of verifiability, that “commitment” is worthless because there is nothing to commit to; there are no consequences for Cloudflare if they fuck it up.

    By the way, here's two of probably zillions of gitlab-ce issues about federated merge requests and issues

    It’s really weird to hear the original version of dance covers of songs when you first heard the dance cover

    example: TIL Cascada’s “Wouldn’t It Be Good” is a cover of a 1984 song credited to Nik Kershaw, and boy is it different

    Here's a user stylesheet snippet you can use to replace hamburger menus with hamburgers:

    .fa-bars:before {
    content: "🍔" !important;
    }

    It doesn't work on everything, not even all websites using Font Awesome (you wouldn't believe how many ways people find to implement the hamburger...) but it occasionally pops up in hilarious places

    I was cleaning up my post heatmap thing from this morning and decided it'd be easier to reimplement it using d3 instead of extracting junk from irb history, so here we are
