Ok, so, can we shout on browsers to bring back the "Subscribe to RSS/Atom feed" button in/near the URL bar?

I mean, clearly people are still using RSS/Atom. And they get annoyed they cannot find an easy way to subscribe.

I am considering implementing all the decentralized ways to distribute my blog I can get my hands on. Onion Service, obviously; DAT; IPFS/IPNS; Zip+torrent/webtorrent...

    So, two questions:

    1. Any other decentralized distribution channel I should consider?

    2. Tracking how much interest there is in what gets published is easy on plain old web; it's way trickier on the decentralized side of things. Yet I'd like to know if the decentralized channels are actually being used. Suggestions?

    #WhyIJoinedMastodon
Always been a decentralization advocate, had an identi.ca StatusNet account for years before "pumpioification". Since then I was looking for an alternative, and Mastodon provided one.

    #WhyIGotIntoMastodon
All the old friends from early StatusNet days started to show up, or simply were already there. Many new friends were made.

    #WhyIStayOnMastodon
Well, I stay on #Fediverse, Mastodon is an important part of it, and for me the gateway to it. But I stay on Fediverse.

@Elizafox I don't think I agree. I would say centralization is *easier*. But I don't think there are problems that are impossible to solve in a decentralized way...

Although I might eat that toot as soon as somebody points such a problem out. ;)

    Please stop using Gmail.
Attachments sent through Gmail seem to be uploaded to Google storage and converted into links in a message and so they never reach my server as part of your email message. If Google goes away one day, your attachments "sent" to me disappear too.

@rysiek It's just not a thing here. Freight is a much bigger business. The rail network becomes very sparse outside of some big cities, most of which are in the NE.

It goes into some great examples with grids and other flexible layouts. Should help you get started on yours

@rysiek It's really nice. Amazing browser support as of 2018 and makes so many things more concise

The bad news is converting existing layouts is a bit of a pain, but depending on how complex it is, I'd say it's still worth it

@cypnk oooh I have not played with grid layout. I am making a new small static site, as a matter of fact, I should play with it.

Flexbox layout was a gamechanger, but I see grid might be amazing too! Thanks.
