what bothers me is the hard COST (energy, systems) to mine the imaginary bitcoins. Gold, must dig real ore and refine, plus has physical use in addition to storing monetary value. BTC don't exist yet have after-effects of physical production as if real.

ah... value for value... but still looking for definition. As you can tell, I'm not a regular listener to the podcast (just periodically sample)... time.
I joined to see how Adam would use Mastodon relative to podcasting.
I'm more interested in the tech, may use it as component of project I'm working on.
I WILL say this... of the several Mastodon instances I monitor, this one seems to be the most engaged... it is an active community. I've met some good folks here.
