Come to think of it, a simple way of laying out such a keyboard would be to produce a ranked list of the most common letter triplets in languages that use the Latin alphabet and start from there. Triplets because then you can optimise for smooth typing of chains of letter pairs.

Bitcoin still hasn't hit the compound interest line. Nothing is collapsing. It's just a bubble popping. If you invested in Bitcoin last summer, you have still made large profits.

I think that if you honestly wanted to make a keyboard layout that improved typing speed and comfort, you'd want to place the most frequently used keys on the home row, and you'd place common digraphs on opposite hands. It's faster and easier to type two letters in succession if they are on opposite hands. As a first step, you'd want vowels on one half of the keyboard and consonants on the other. For extremely common consonant clusters, you might want to make some exceptions to the rule.

@Johann_Faust Anti-capitalists are naive. Capitalism is a symptom, not the problem. The problem is people who are hungry for power and wealth. So long as such people exist, and so long as they have loyal helpers, exploitation will exist in one form or another. Before capitalism, there was colonialism. Before colonialism, there was feudalism. Always always always. You can't get rid of this unless you install electric collars that zap every human if they're greedy or selfish.

@Saederup92 I don't know about the journalists where you're at, but my general impression is that the largest media organisations out there are generally staffed by journalists who are left of center.
I have a dad who worked in a local newspaper for many years. Here's a typical conversation in a news desk:
Reporter: Is it ethical to report on this?
Editor: No, but if we don't break the story, someone else will. -

@Saederup92 What I mean by adding even more bias is: When the news media realised that their bias toward bad news incited hatred when it was about immigrants, their response was to censor out details about ethnicities. People notice it when such details are suddenly left out, and they start filling in the blanks through speculation; excellent fodder for conspiracy theories.

Let me tell you what real bias looks like: It's what doesn't get reported. One form of bias that we are all familiar with is the news media's tendency to neglect good news. Pair this with the topic of immigration and you get only bad news about immigrants. They are either drowning in the Mediterranean or burning cars in Sweden. Somehow, the media failed to understand how this might incite hatred toward immigrants, and once they did get it, they made it worse by adding even more bias.

The problem with "Don't believe everything you read" is that it can backfire. When well intentioned people say that, they usually have an opinion about what you shouldn't believe, but no one gets specific.

Does ActivityPub offer some means of extension? Related: Can clients send out of band data to each other?
It would be nice to be able to run other protocols on top of ActivityPub, or at least use it for handshakes.

Programmers who don't care about indentation should be forced to write Python programs exclusively for a year.
Also, can we invent a Python dialect where idiomatic padding with spaces is also enforced, and then force people who are sloppy about padding their expression operators with whitespace to use that?
I dream of this every day.

He keeps asking me "Why are you doing it this way? Why don't you just XXX?"
Also, he rolls his eyes every time I tell him to fix his indentation and to pad his expressions with spaces in the appropriate places. I don't understand how he can even find his way around his own source code. I also don't understand how he can stand leaving random groups of blank lines every were. -

I'm ever guilty of choosing the somewhat harder way when I develop an app in order to make it a bit more challenging. For example, I frequently challenge myself to get away with as few nested DIVs as possible when doing HTML/CSS. Simply piling on the DIVs feels like a defeat to me. I'm assisting a trainee at work and he hates me because I never take the path of least resistance and am always stripping away 50% of his code.

The easiest part of developing an app is always the most boring part. I've spent weeks on a map system and that was very hard, but also very interesting. Now I'm working on the more routine search and purchase parts. I've barely started and I'm already bored.
