Horse shit is sometimes necessary. We all produce it when we are afraid that people will judge us. We even produce horse shit when we try to introspect, because true introspection isn't possible. You have access to your feelings, sensory input and actions, and the rest is just speculation.

All these job ads make my eyes glaze over, and there's a good reason for that: The people who wrote them felt nothing. The slogans are empty. Every company's true tagline: "- turning a profit for our shareholders"

I have never met a person who *didn't* create a startup because they wanted to "make it."
In other words: They want to get rich. That's the whole story. The slogans are just there to conceal that fact.

Nothing wrong with wanting money, but stating a different reason is horse shit.

You wonder how these businesses manage to sell their products and services at all when they're so incompetent at advertising themselves to employees.

A Norwegian company made a Tinder for job searching.

Every company I'm looking at is mainly concerned with displaying their logo and bragging about their accomplishments. There's very little about what might make them attractive for me as a job seeker.

The whole point of Tinder is to use optics to attract people. A company logo is boring. Show me pictures of your coolest product or your brightly lit office. Anything *but* a company logo would be better.

@rpcutts Yeah, I'm familiar with it. It reminded me of that too, but this looks to be a DNS specific issue. I'm going to set alternative DNS servers and see how that goes.

Why would foreign (mostly American) websites randomly stop resolving in DNS for brief periods of time on a broadband connection, while domestic (Norwegian) sites continue to resolve just fine?

I hope we're just in one of those hysterical time periods similar to the the 1950s at the moment, because otherwise, these are basically the end times.

The news is full of these apocalyptic warnings about climate and biodiversity coming out of the UN. We are paranoid about the Russians. Our political structures are showing signs of stress.

Again, I hope it's just a storm in a glass of water...
