Just went on a time journey on Spotify, from about 2003 to 2013. I have narrowed down my last year of being in the pop music loop, and it looks to be 2010, the year I turned 27.

I think the decline started even earlier, around 2000-2002, because even if I was all right with the pop music of the time, it had started moving in a direction I didn't outright love.

They say you stop being with it as you get close to 30, so 2010 as my last year of enjoying chart music sounds about right to me.

I keep checking back, just in case the trends change in a way I like, but it seems that pop music has been on a fixed trajectory away from my preferences for about 15 years now, and something tells me that it's going to continue doing that. How often do you see an 80-year-old enthusiastically listening to currently charting tracks? That just doesn't happen.

Yep, it can't get more official: I'm not with it anymore.

I'm not with it in any way, shape or form. I just listened to the top of the Spotify charts and I don't get why anyone would enjoy listening to any of it.

Some 5 years ago, the charts merely sounded blander than they used to. Now they sound outright unpleasant.

Only one song stood out as vaguely listenable: "Lucky You" by Eminem and Joyner Lucas, because the rapping was impressive, but Eminem's an old act, so it doesn't really count.

Okay, it irritates me that Safari has quit supporting ad blockers that don't use its Content Blocking API, an extremely limited API that can only do URL-based blocking. It doesn't permit blocking pre-roll ads on YouTube, for example, making it unacceptable to me. Safari always ran kind of slow with blockers installed, so I can see why they did it. On the other hand, why the fuck is it so slow with 3rd party content blockers in the first place...

@Mainebot Well, at this point, ignoring them will result in a new election. They can't form a government without including them. This is the will of the voters, no matter how awful. Rejecting that will is to reject democracy.

@clacke My understanding of the situation is that the other parties aren't willing to even talk to them. In Norway, FrP was included in a coalition with the conservatives and the world didn't end. FrP was originally a tax protest party that later adopted an anti-immigration stance. SD has an uglier past, but I doubt they'd do much harm if they were included in a coalition. Frp is currently all bark and no bite because they're the smaller party and can't set the agenda.

The political system of our Swedish neighbours is still in gridlock weeks after the election on September 9. No party has a sufficient majority to form a government without the Sweden Democrats, yet no party is willing to include them in a government coalition. They have 17% of the votes, but the establishment refuses to accept it.

I'm using this managed switch in so many ways I hadn't even imagined, because it opens up so many options. The more I work with it, the more I realise that, if you have a managed switch, what you want to do is to attach literally everything to it and let it take care of patching everything through, because if you change your mind about the wiring later, you just change the configuration in firmware.

Having a managed switch at my disposal is kind of blowing my mind a little. I'm doing things like patching an Internet WAN and an IPTV LAN to a pair of ports and exposing those networks on a third port via untagged and tagged VLANs respectively. They're both downlinks to the same router, and that router has two 1 Gbps buses that it splits evenly between bridged and unbridged ports, so it makes sense to do it that way.

Network setup that I'm working on for my landlord. Pictured are three Mikrotik RB750Gr3 and one ZyXEL GS1900-24E. I'm considering to reduce the number of cables from each router to the switch to just one, because the RB750Gr3 can only do 2 Gbps across its ports total anyway, and it'll allocate 1 Gbps each to the switched and non-switched ports if switching is enabled. I already collapsed the IPTV and the backbone into two VLANs one port for this reason.

My recommendation after buying a purebred indoor cat:

Be prepared to give it about 3 times as much attention as a cat that goes outside. If you aren't prepared, it's going to demand it from you anyway.

The outside provides a *lot* of stimulation for a cat, and if that's not available, be prepared to compensate for it with a ton of cuddling, play, toys and cat furniture.

@aetios That's going to be difficult, seeing as I felt like shit earlier today and fell asleep, waking up only now. I've been feeling like crap for the past 2-3 days, with no particular signs of illness except a runny nose and feeling vaguely shitty.

@aetios I basically ate the thing and it read 36ΒΊC. I'm feeling a bit cold and have a stomach ache, so I was wondering if the coldness was fever, or just lower body temperature due to blood being redirected to the guts because they are working in overdrive.
