@CRM-114 Isn't a chaser supposed to rinse out the bad taste in your mouth? Or is that specific to a unicorn chaser? -

@Lee Fife That's when you're following them, not when you're looking them up.
I don't think there's a way to go to someone's profile on their server and see their timeline minus boosts.

That was about half a year ago.
Now I have 2+ years of experience with FastAPI! π

Ah, that's why it was so difficult to find, it was about FastAPI, not Vue. π

I saw a job post the other day. π
It required 4+ years of experience in FastAPI. π€¦
I couldn't apply as I only have 1.5+ years of experience since I created that thing. π
Maybe it's time to re-evaluate that "years of experience = skill level". β»

Trying to find that classic tweet by Evan You where he notes that he doesn't qualify for a Vue job that requires 5 years experience, as he created Vue only 3 years earlier. -

What's the name of that service people can opt into and then you can go there to see their Fedi outbox without the reposts, only their own original posts? -

To produce effective change, you need to have concrete, actionable proposals that will receive support.
In a political system with first-past-the-post, single-constituency voting and an intelligent, informed, well-meaning and constructive electorate, that means you need to be passionate, you need to be articulate, you need to have the facts on your side, you need to be committed to your idelogical goals, and your idelogical goals need to be a little bit, but not too much, slightly off-center from whatever current policy is.

> Simmons, Firman, Rhodes, and Peters reviewed 11 published studies of extra-pair paternity from various locations [ . . . ]. The median rate of extrapair paternity was 1.8%.
> Frequencies [of mistaken assumed paternity, or "covert illegitimacy"] as high as 30% are sometimes assumed in the media, but research by sociologist Michael Gilding traced these overestimates back to an informal remark at a 1972 conference.

Those numbers are easier for me to accept as achievable than the 15% figure. (they're not measuring the same thing but should have a strong overlap)en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Monogamyβ¦

An acquaintance cited a figure that so many as 15% are wrong about or don't know who their father is, and that sounds so high that with some assumptions that seem reasonable to me, I cannot even make the math work. -

I'm not defending their actions, in fact I despise their actions, having been deceived myself more than once, but I have to be envious of people who have such an ability for planning and execution that they manage to make time for affairs and manage to do so in secret.
I don't have time for *one* life, much less a double one.

The subtitles say "Moclan music playing".
It's a medieval instrumental rendition of Dolly Parton's "Jolene". Love it. π

The camera work, direction and acting is very effective as well. I was especially impressed by Palicki's emotional range in "A Tale of Two Topas", when commander Grayson experienced a full spectrum from sympathetic distress to fierce protectiveness to regret and guilt to aggressive outrage to caring concern. I felt it. -

I can see a beautiful step toward reconciliation coming up and I'm already sobbing, it's so beautiful.
Every episode in S3 pushes so many buttons. The relationship writing is so on point, I feel manipulated in a good way. It's cathartic, like therapy. They hit so hard and it's so rewarding.
I'm gushing. It's silly. I should normally be drunk to be leaking so much of this sentimental stuff.
The beefed up music in this season is a bit on the nose and is getting a bit exhausting. The writing really does it all by itself, it doesn't need all this epic swelling to make the impact.
