Ok, this was not Star Trek or Buffy level on the production side, but it was fun. I appreciated that there was no auto-tuning, and the episode was relevant and the excuse for a musical world made perfect sense within the series.

It's pretty remarkable how four seasons have been building up to this climax, starting from the very first episode. It really ties into setups, callbacks and foreshadowing that have been dropped across the whole series.

Wait, is the title music a capella? Yes? Yes! Yeeessss, I have arrived at the MUSICAL EPISODE!!

I was going to do something useful right now, but it'll have to wait, just this episode first.

The projection in the link preview is the #danseijiIII , which still maintains the settled continents relatively undistorted (by distorting the oceans), but splits Antarctica. So that's mostly the advantages of a Dymaxion-like, but has something like a north and south and looks more familiar to people used to Mercator and Mollweide maps.

It's similar to an earlier "Halstead’s Composite World interrupted" projection by Carlos Furuti that is only preserved on the Wayback Machine:

The most interesting to me is "Danseiji IV", a projection that is inspired by Dymaxion but looks a bit more organic.
