@Kermode Gulf stream. To get temperature-equivalent latitude between Europe and the US you have to move Europe quite a ways south. Spain is on the latitude around New England but has a climate like maybe Georgia? South Sweden is kind of like New York maybe?

Iceland is pretty green most of the year and Greenland is mostly full of ice. 😃

In one of the dreams there was someone who had miniature whales in bottles, like a ship in a bottle but real living whales, adult grown individuals, but somehow small enough for a bottle you can hold in your hands.

I was reprimanding them and telling them that was no life for a whale. Look at this miniature Greenland whale, it's grown big enough now that it's filling the whole bottle with just millimeters to spare, can't bend, can't move forward or to the side, imagine how soul-crushingly depressing and panic-inducing that must be. The person didn't see the problem at all.

Oh, there was a third dream ... maybe between the two other ones? Or before the ESC dream?

Kid and I were on a bus for a week with some other people, someone else was driving. The trip started and ended at my parents' church and there was something about a monkey, a cartoon monkey. Maybe we had some youtube video with a monkey that we liked to watch during down time, or maybe we talked a lot about the monkey, I don't know.

In the picture we were on a boat, kind of a troop transport type boat and we were heading out to an island where camp would be. It was rainy and windy and all the kids were sitting down and wearing bulky orange full-body rain coats that looked like biohazard suits, with a window for the face. Behind them was me with no rain coat, just jeans and t-shirt, shouting joyfully at the camera.

I was looking like a big old hippie grandpa, kind of like The Dude, had a full beard (as I have now in reality) and hair flowing in the wind down to below my waist (I've never had hair longer than down to my shoulders).

In the second dream I was troop leader for a bunch of boy scouts, one of them my son. It was a long and complicated dream that somehow involved some woman as our nemesis, but in the end, as the dream was evaporating, what I remembered was the final scene in the dream where we were on the way back from camp and I was talking to someone and looking at pictures I had taken.

It was the first picture of the adventure, but over and over I was retroactively re-taking the picture, "hmm, no, I should have been standing more like that with this facial expression" and now the picture looked like that instead. Finally I was satisfied with the picture and then I woke up.

I had two long dreams in a sequence, but I already remember very little of them.

The first was I was behind the scenes in a kind of Eurovision Song Contest production. They were trying to queue up the songs for the quick review round, but their software was super buggy and I was thinking this was an opportunity to create and sell something better as Open Source.

Somehow I had to jump in as a presenter and I was interviewing this singer whose gimmick was he was singing together with plush animals, so I had one big plush animal on my head and one on my shoulder.

Had to look up "pouet". It's French onomatopoeia for "toot". 3/6 examples are clearly from a Mastodon context!

Alpha Centauri is an interesting one too. Some non-canon material out there has some native non-human Centaurian humanoids. But the canon tea leaves seem to indicate it's an Earth colony full of humans.
