#inktober day 16, “wild”

It’s also fascinating to me how many of our hero movies have been about super rich elites who move through the world with very few obstacles and increasingly our villains have been poor people with few safety nets. Why do we put cries for help for the working class in the mouths of villains? It feels like propaganda: when we see these movies and hear these cries for help in the real world we subconsciously associate them with villains and destruction and their arguments are weakened

my last year of twitter felt like talking into a void. It was depressing and isolating, and it was wonderful to come here and get a bunch of random people saying hi, and welcome, on my very first post. I appreciate the people I've met here and the conversations I've had more than words can say. 💜

Coworker just went into great detail about how he is a peacemaker and likes to resolve conflicts, and then said he doesn't care what started the issue, he just wants things to be peaceful, and I think this is a pretty common error! Just because you've maintained a peaceful calm environment around yourself does not mean the issue has been resolved, it just means you value your own comfort over hearing other people's concerns and working to find a solution

I take a lot of pictures of the sky and usually people ignore me or look askance but as I took one today a woman near me in the parking lot stopped, looked at the sky, and said “My god, it is beautiful, isn’t it,” and took a picture of her own

When I turn on the ceiling fan all the kittens freak out except for Ellie, who stares fixedly at it and then tries to attack it from the floor. I love her. Ellie would try to kill the sun, given a chance

Be proud of your accomplishments, even if they feel simple, even if you feel like it's something that comes easily for other people. It's difficult for you and you did it anyway! Hell yeah!

Let's see how far I get on this before I get too overwhelmed at the thought of leaving someone out!
