I don't use Instagram because it's owned by Facebook. But I really like Pixelfed (thanks @dansup!) and find it a lovely place to put some of my photos from being out and about.
In the interest of connecting with fellow learning technologists (and related) and building a community here, I’m starting a list. Toot me if you’re a learning technologist on Mastodon and would like to be added. Boost for visibility? TY! ^_^
The newest member of the #MoodleNet team, @alexcastano, has written a post for our blog about #Elixir. It details the research and documentation that @mayel did that led to us choosing that language (and ultimately Alex!)
@acuteanniemay@mayel@Gin I think that's a bit harsh. There's definitely capitalists trying to make money off things that need to change in education, but that doesn't make open source approaches to those changes 'disappointing'.
As an educator, as a parent, and as a technologist, this is exactly the kind of stuff I want to see.
Very excited to be working with @Gin on HAHA Academy. We just published our manifesto and launched the league of 1000 HAHAs:
- We need location-independent learning and accreditation - We need to support lifelong learning - We need to support self-taught learning - We need to recognise learning without high-stakes examinations
@dajbelshaw They're flailing around and trying to maintain growth after G+ failed and Apple started turning on tracking protection by default, while having completely lost the ability to innovate (to the extent that Google has ever really had it). The expiration of the consent decree preventing them from mixing data from DoubleClick with data from their other properties gives them a little bit of wiggle room but not enough IMO.
