I don't get why companies (and individuals, for that matter) make it difficult to unsubscribe from newsletters and updates.

Don't they realise that people will get rid of them somehow, probably by marking then as spam?

Knock-on effect: eventually, the algorithms behind Outlook, GMail, etc. place emails from that org directly in junk mail. 🙄
