From her acclaimed album There Are No Saints comes a song called Whatever Helps that deals with the subject matter of depression. In short, it is an incredibly moving song that centres around Siobhan’s gorgeous vocals. But underneath her message is also importantly the gently executed sound of her guitar. With enough ‘maximum fuzz with minimum fuss’ it skilfully creates a very surreal mood.

Just when you think you have worked out The Hottman Sisters they surprise you with a new track that doesn’t sound quite like their previous work. From their acoustic folky sound to their electric leanings of pop-rock, heightened by their lush vocal harmonies, Jessica and Heather are forever pushing the boundaries as musicians.

Madonna has appeared on the cover of hundreds of magazines since she first hit the charts in the early ’80’s. This small fraction of Madonna memorabilia I have sporadically collected over the years has become increasingly collectible.
