@cagatayy My library doesn't work on Windows, and even with autotools, it compiles within a minute, from a fresh git checkout to the end of `make check`. That's good enough for me. It doesn't change often enough to warrant serious work to be put in speeding the build up.
I *liked* most of Meson, mind you, but it preventing me from putting generated files into a subdir is a show-stopper :/

@kensanata You may have to tweak it a little, because it uses some OneShot modifiers and the like, but hopefully its a better starting point than a QWERTY layout =)

@ckeen I don't have a soldering kit (yet), nor the experience. I will have to learn soldering at some point, but I'd start with something simpler. From falbatech, for this price, I get a nice bamboo case, switches, a wooden wrist rest, and full assembly (sans keycaps), plus shipping. I think this is a fair price, and I don't have to hunt for parts, I can get it all from one place.
(And I like falbatech, would happily support them with my purchase.)

@kaushalmodi It's a custom emoji. Instance administrators can add custom emojis, and I happen to run my own instance, and happen to have a thing (definitely not addiction, I swear!) to keyboards, I imported a bunch of fancy keyboard emojis. =)

Hmmm. I can get one from falba.tech, fully assembled (without keycaps, but I have a suitable set), for β¬157, shipping included. Since its within EU, I *think* no taxes apply. Perhaps for Christmas? Or... in a few months, for $work purposes... I suppose I could mark it as a company expense. Hmm.

The other day I was pondering about rebuilding my brother's websites on top of #ActivityPub, and also moving my blog over to the result too. Now, there's a catch: content may be much longer than 500 chars, which shouldn't be a problem for ActivityPub, but people following the thing might meet with big walls of text.
Not quite sure what to do about that yet.

And that's why Mozilla can say "RSS/Atom has been in decline and support has been dropped by companies such as Google (Google Reader), or Apple (Apple Mail), or changed focus." And that's why I think we need to keep RSS/Atom despite big companies dropping support because RSS and Atom work precisely for the slow web, the small sites, for average Internet people, for us.
