@amiloradovsky Tried Chicken, but the C it generates is way too inefficient for an AVR target. #MicroScheme looks worth investigating, my original search did not find it. Thanks!
Our twins are four months old today, and holidays are approaching, and I thought it would be a good idea to give a little something to someone who could use it. This coming Sunday, I'll buy the "Be a Coder" bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/books/be-a-coder-books) to someone who needs, and wants it.
If you'd like to have it, or know someone who would, and you (or them) can't buy it, contact me. Either via DM, or e-mail at be-a-coder@gergo.csillger.hu.
Boosting this toot for better coverage is most appreciated!
@kel Yeah, but I have a very specific need of compiling to C/C++ (or native AVR binary) that can interface with Arduino libraries, and the result is suitable for use on an Atmega32u4. And not just suitable, I need it to be efficient too. As in, I want to re-do parts of a keyboard firmware in lisp... must fit in 28k code + 2k ram, and do everything the current C++ code does. This is the hard part, the arduino/avr constraint.

Oooh. The new Humble Book Bundle (https://www.humblebundle.com/books/be-a-coder-books) includes γLearn You a Haskell for Great Good!γ An awesome book, the $1 tier is well worth it just for this. Then γLand of Lispγ, γRealm of Racketγ and γClojure for the Brave and Trueγ in the $8 tier? This is some sweet deal.
So #Patreon is backing down, and they're not going to roll out the fees change. I'm not going to trust them after this fiasco, so I'm staying on #Liberapay instead. They are much more in line with my values anyway.
Trust is hard to build, very easy to loose. Patreon lost mine. It would take much more than not rolling out the changes to win me back.
I want to run a D&D campaign where the big villain is a lich bard. He was originally a bard but he became a lich so he'd have centuries to perfect his poetry. His massive villainous scheme is to manipulate cultures over centuries, starting wars and introducing cultural shifts and destroying whole kingdoms of people. His ultimate goal, though, is just to change how the Common language is pronounced, so that he can find a word to rhyme in one of the stanzas of his poem.
While no patch yet, a patch idea is within the report. Will try that today. It won't make NKRO keyboards work, but will help those that support both NKRO and Boot mode, and default to the former.
