on having linux chats at a coffee-shop.
when speaking of tracking down and killing orphans, discretion is advised.

@michelamarie just because of some dependencies that won't run well under linux.
I don't actually do any development or ops on the windows machine, just functions as a window manager to open a music player, some management utils, vnc sessions, and virtualbox.
side benefit, gaming on it.

try the latest IT cross-fit challenge?
solo haul a 4U storage server up 3 flights of stairs, opening biometric security doors balancing it on your knees in a wall-sit.
please send help

@michelamarie @Theophilus I use KVM in my virt stack (1000s of VMs running, coast to coast), I'm just forced to use it on a windows PC for some stuff and it constantly breaks.

@dildog yep, i was avoiding mentioning them :)
I've landed on nothing spectacular as a solution other than I have a single desktop which basically runs a music player + multiple vnc clients + vms

installing vim as a build dep to get xxd is a fauxpas.
stick your privileged editor preferences back in their pretty boxes, and lets just be civil and depend on nice libs that don't impede on MY RIGHTS AS A TERMINAL USER

@codesections excellent tool! It would be wonderful if this were integrated directly into the project with a little "Nuke" button to wipe out the toot, and everyone associated with it forever.

I wonder how many people use "CorrectHorseBatteryStaple' as a password.

@ekaitz_zarraga after testing a bunch of traditional office chairs out, I ended up getting a Thermaltake X Comfort series chair.
Fits my height and has very dense foam under the leather so it doesn't wear much at all. Same adjustments as my old steelcase with better upper back support.

@ekaitz_zarraga My office "professionalism" swings wildly between "I don't need anything fancy, just stack some tables and give me a laptop and a rug to stand on" to "I have a $700 chair, 3 monitors, overpowered desktop and virtualization server, and lets shop for more specialized layout mechanical keyboards".

@Dinoracha shoot, perhaps per her protocol announcement she was expecting a reply of "Yes No" to complete the TCP handshake

@ekaitz_zarraga a few years back I used two stacked tables. one a dining room table, then top one was a coffee table with a shelf in the middle.
my keyboard rest on a piece of wood hanging on the middle shelf on the coffee-table and my laptop sat on the top of the coffee-table with a book propped under the backside to tilt it appropriately.
