@ink_slinger @FssOfDeath i used DDG at first, but have always been upset about the quality of results (especially technical documentation). Qwant seems to be at least 90% as good as Google results, has decent image search, music search which is nice, and "boards" which are like a private pin-board/bookmark thing.

overall, don't miss DDG at all.

@clarkenciel maybe helpful: you can usually slam the brightness to 0 to "turn it off".

so many apps will open links in the browser app, and use a forwarding url to enable tracking. So not into that

I do, however, not care so much about notifications. I prefer to come to socials to check what's going on, instead of having it try to pull me in.

I notice that notifications generally come through if the tab is in the foreground and app is in the background, but haven't cared too much to try and get them all the time.
