@thamesynne Leeds from here is just under a 20 minute drive as long as you aren't daft and don't go in rush hour (at which point it's an hour).

But the bus takes a tortuous route around just about every town in the area, seemingly in alphabetical order, making a 20-minute drive into a 90-minute bus trip that costs over a fiver. And if you're going to a show that ends after 9pm fuck you.

And they wonder why the local roads are so congested.

@risabee Bit too hot for me. I've been really struggling in the high 20s/low 30s temperatures we've been having here over the past few weeks, I don't think I could cope with a Spanish summer.

@tbeckett There's really no such thing as Commonwealth citizenship. The Commonwealth is really just a ceremonial thing, a club of nations rather than anything that has any practical day-to-day use for life or business.

I wish it was more, I think relations with the various African members and India in particular have an awful lot of potential, but there isn't the political will to do anything more than have a games every four years.

@tbeckett No, there are no free movement arrangements between the Commonwealth countries. Australia, NZ and Canada are notoriously tough to get into for UK citizens.

Tired of posting something and then getting rubbishy replies from shithouse instances that don't moderate hate speech.

Why has #socialcoop not got various problematic "FREE SPEECH!" type instances (mostly Pleromas, but a few Masto instances) blocked?

I am not naming any names to avoid receiving nastygrams from those instances (DM me for examples) but they are routinely blocked on other instances.
