@ghost_bird I don't do heat or sun well at all. I like to cover up because I am not overly keen on my body, so being out with bare arms is horrible for me. But even uncovered, I can't *do* much in the hot weather.

It makes me sad because there are so many awesome places in our world but they're often in really hot climates so I will probably never feel like I can visit and enjoy myself.

I enjoyed Northern Ireland! Interesting, nice people, and not hot. :)

@ghost_bird The sun is really not my friend. I burn really quickly and brightly, but it's not particularly painful (perhaps because I'm used to it).

But people always go "oooh you've caught the sun a bit" in a "you must be in excruciating pain" way.

I tend to stay indoors during heatwaves and go out up on the moors in the rain and mist and drizzle...

@bobstechsite I use it, but I install it from the Debian repo and I don't believe Debian would allow such dodgy behaviour anywhere near their repository.

I also don't believe I'm 'supporting the dev' by simply installing their software from the repo and using it. I'm just using useful software.

There was a bit of a to-do the other week about a GNU Social or Pleroma instance that we should all block because it does creepy stuff and doesn't respect privacy settings on posts.

I was out of the country so I didn't do anything - can anyone remember the name of the instance?

I'm finally getting home tonight and I can start work again!

I work for myself, so I can work when I want as long as I make a short trip to the post office at some point during the day to send out orders.

Would it be really terrible of me to go nocturnal during the heatwave? Like, do all my work at night and early morning and sleep through the hot bits? Or would that be horribly weird and antisocial?

Everyone is hot and mardy today. Looking forward to being back at home later and cocooning myself away with my work until this heat wave is over.

Can't I just be whatever gender I feel like on any given day, hour, moment? Why do I have to pick one (of two) and spend the rest of my days living and perfecting its expression?

either that or they pay the typist by the letter
