Anyway that was because all the comments I'm seeing on stuff are all super focused on the romance angle and I'm like, but I want a book that's focused on the story and the romance angle is part of the character development, that's the opposite focus of what I'm looking for you guysssss

I was complaining to Lyn about the write-ups/reviews for stuff I keep seeing online when trying to look into this sort of thing and accidentally came up with the perfect summary of what I'm looking for:

I want a fantasy or scifi novel with a cool plot and Boys Having Feelings.

Which is to say, I DON'T want a gay romance novel in a fantasy or scifi setting.

@jessmahler @aldersprig I would jump on this recommendation except I've been reading books and stories about people being abused and tortured for years and that puts a major minus point in.... basically ever reading more by Mercedes Lackey ever

For real though, if it checks off every item I described up there, tell me and I will give you twenty dollars

also a PSA to consider what a meme-format comment reads like to people who don't know the memes before using them so you don't unintentionally be an asshole at someone.

I really want to do the meme thing and say "boost this you cowards" but that just sounds really mean without context if you are unfamiliar with the meme format, so I'm doing this vague explanatory post instead.
