Listening to NA994 now. While I think that classifying obsessive gaming as a disorder is plausibly linked to advertising, I think it is more plausible that it is meant to address the stereotypical "gamer" who is a socially repressed troll who plays Call of Duty in his mom's basement and turns into a home-grown terrorist. Which is bogus. There are many other problems that make these guys go nuts.

@xahlee Maybe, maybe not. Everyone is different. Fetishes as wide as the internet. Couple that with the social bonds that furries seem to form with each other, and you have a recipe for good relationships. (And some not-so-good ones, but that's present in any culture or subculture).

@Knight_of_the_First_State Maybe if they stopped trying to cram these thin, unstable batteries in these devices and actually had enough space to have a bigger battery that can be built more reliably they wouldn't have to do this.

@xahlee The main contingent of furries (not the zoophiles or other fringe parts of the subculture) have also managed to turn porn into a positive force in their relationships, both intimate and simply friendly. Much more mature and quality relationships and understanding of each other. It's quite remarkable to see, although furries tend to be overwhelmingly Dimension B.

@trekrich No penalty for prepayment, so really no harm no foul, but it was confusing me in thinking they had screwed something up in the transfer to the new company.

@trekrich I have done some more digging and from what I see it looks like they extended my payoff date for some reason. I was scheduled to have them paid off in mid 2018, but they extended their payoff to late 2019 for some reason. Whatever, still paying the same amount to get them DONE!

How is it that for many years I had a student loan with a company, the same payment each month, and it gets bought by another company, and the monthly payment goes down? I keep paying the same amount I was, and it's like the interest rate went down, but it didn't. What's the scam here?
